Yoga is a timeless science that has been used for centuries to strengthen both bodies and minds. It is meant to help calm the mind, focus energy, and create flexibility and strength throughout the entire body.
At the Fitness Learning Center, we offer Hatha Yoga – a school of yoga that combines breathing exercises and series of postures called asanas to help students focus their energy, using it more efficiently. Our Yoga instructor and owner Anita Deoskar will offer you great support and education in helping you learn the art of Yoga and the benefits it has for body and mind.
LEVELS OFFERED:
BEGINNER - The perfect way to begin your yoga practice with a solid foundation. You will learn the basic postures, breathing techniques, and terminology. Upon completion of the course, you will be fully prepared for our Mixed Level course.
MIXED LEVEL - For students with a basic understanding of asana and are now ready for a more challenging class. You can still expect fundamental instruction, guidance, and modifications of poses.
MODIFIED GENTLE - A very calming and therapeutic class introducing postures and breathing techniques to stretch and strengthen gradually. This class is good for those new to exercise or with special concerns and/or injuries.
INTERMEDIATE - Strength, stamina, and flexibility will be required as more advanced postures and sequences are introduced.
HIGH INTERMEDIATE - Presumes students are familiar with intermediate yoga postures. Further variations and more challenging and vigorous sequences are introduced.
CHILDREN (ages 6-12) - Yoga is a fun, safe way for children to explore their changing bodies and learn to calm their restless minds. Through the process of yoga, children increase strength, stamina, and concentration in a non-competitive environment.
